Canada is the world’s fifth-largest producer of natural gas and sixth-largest producer of oil. Canada is a is a major player in the energy industry, crucial to the economy of North America and has the third largest oil reserves in the world. Now the country is looking to expand its oil and gas capabilities further.
The state of Canada’s market
On average, Canada produces 3.5 million barrels of crude oil and 13.7 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day. It is one of the few countries in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) with growing oil production, and the country anticipates increased jobs and investment in future.
Canada is estimated to have close to 1,225 trillion cubic feet of natural gas potential. There has been a significant increase in the amount of natural gas available in recent years thanks to technological advancements – making the industry better and more effective at extracting natural gas.
Our expansion
Canada’s oil and natural gas producers are continuing to build new markets for their expanding production, and Fluenta is doing the same. As demand for energy continues to grow, Canadian producers will be using flaring – where excess natural gas is burned – to ensure production expands sustainably and safely.
We are supplying our Fluenta FGM 160 flare gas meters to the region. The most accurate way to measure flare gas is with ultrasonic technology – the only technology with the potential to keep pace with massive production increases and constantly changing regulations.
Using the latest ultrasonic sensing technology, our FGM 160 Flare Gas Meter will be used in processing plants across Canada and the US West Coast to accurately measure and monitor flare gas.
