This week we introduced a new range of ultrasonic flow transducers to the Fluenta product family. Capable of accurately measuring gas flow in highly challenging environments, our new high -temperature transducer measures gas flow processes at up to +250°C, and our cryogenic transducer is functional down to -200°C.
With the ability to measure gas flow in processes from 6 to 72 inches in diameter and up to 100 per cent methane or 100 per cent carbon dioxide, Fluenta’s new transducers provide the most accurate flare gas monitoring on the market.
Some like it cold
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) markets are shaping the future of the Oil & Gas Industry. LNG refers to natural gas that has been converted to liquid form for ease and safety of non-pressurised storage or transport. LNG processes enable the transportation, sale and distribution of natural gas from isolated reserves that would otherwise be wasted or burned.
Liquefaction of natural gas occurs at -160°C and LNG is kept cool as a boiling cryogen during storage. The boiling cryogen then evaporates within its container to generate a cooling steam, allowing LNG to stay at a near constant temperature and be safely transported. To date, measuring and monitoring these temperatures has proved difficult.
Fluenta’s new cryogenic transducer has been specially designed to withstand temperatures as low as -200°C, a temperature range that is more than sufficient for the challenging environments found in LNG and other gas liquefication and chemical processes.
A wider approach
Our innovation in software and signalling processes means Fluenta transducers also function in processes containing up to 100 per cent methane and 100 per cent carbon dioxide – at temperatures as high as +250°C. While these gas mixes and temperatures have been challenging for traditional ultrasonic flow meters, the functionality of our new transducers prove Fluenta is dedicated to meeting the changing needs of our customers.
